High everybody on the ESUG and GSUG lists,

I just got the attached message about VisualWorks 5i. As a lot of
interesting new features will be in this version, I distribute this
information to the lists.

The VisualWorks 5i Beta 2 is now available on the web site. You can access
the beta download link from the 5i 'Ready to evolve' graphic on the
ObjectShare home page (www.objectshare.com) which takes you to the 5i
information page. The link to the beta is at the bottom of the page. You
will need to provide contact information and agree to the terms of the beta
test agreement (again) to download the files.

This Beta includes Beta2 versions of VisualWorks Enterprise 5i, DLL&C
Connect, Advanced Tools and Database Connects for Oracle & Sybase. There
are 4 compressed files with a max size of 5MB to ease download.

Beta2 is a functionally complete version of the 5i products which are
scheduled to ship this quarter. Any problem reports for the Beta software
or documentation should be submitted as soon as possible to
betatest@objectshare.com.
