The Belgian Smalltalk User Group vzw organizes on the 4th April its first "Smalltalk applications night" in the Arenberg Castle, Heverlee (KU Leuven). 2 successful applications used in the financial world will be presented.

All you need to do is fill in the registration form and fax it to 016/35.38.93 or send it to BSUG vzw, Heesterbos 11, B-2570 Duffel. We already are looking forward in meeting you.

Mortgage Plan Management
Informatisering van het beheer van de hypothecaire leningen

Guy Van Laethem (RJV/ONVA)

Abstract

Aloan is a loan manager application. It is capable of monitoring different loans, including mortgage plan calculation and follow up.

RJV/ONVA gives out a number of loans to non-profit organizations. Before the product "Aloan" was developed, the task of managing and reporting these loans was done externally by its bank. RJV/ONVA paid this bank a serious amount of money for performing this service. RJV/ONVA received summary reports from the bank every year. The rest of the time RJV/ONVA didn't had any idea on the status of payments and such. Now that hIghQ (www.highq.be) has developed "Aloan", RJV/ONVA doesn't have to pay anything anymore to this bank and the numerous reporting facilities that are included in Aloan make it possible to get a clear idea on the financial status on a day by day basis. Developing this application was cheaper than the cost of 1 yearly fee for the bank service. This presentation includes a demo of Aloan

This presentation will be in Dutch.

IT Supported, Multichannel Sales- & Marketing-processes for Financial Institutions

René Meier (Sales Director Europe GENESiS Gmbh, Austria)

Abstract

GMM (Genesis Micro-Marketing - www.genesis.at) is an integrated application that fully supports and controls all forms of sales activities and sales channels of financial products such as loans, insurance, investment packages, etc…. All basic functions included in GMM are also offered to other applications via simple interfaces. Appointments, sales opportunities and activities, historical data and statistics from "outside applications" can be fed into and queried from GMM easily. This gives branch management, middle and top management of the organization statistical and up to date information with heretofore-unseen efficiency. The application was developed with VisualAge for Smalltalk. This presentation includes a demo of GMM.

This presentation will be in English.
